how fucking stupid is this? how amazingly useless that i can never tell what file it is i just see the same thing being repeated in every tab because full path wont fit when remote editing, it shows the name of the full path in the tab instead of the filename. This might be a really stupid question, but what is VIM? I have gooogled it briefly (never heard of it before now) but I still dont quite' get what it is. I have almost even tried to learn app development myself so I could somehow make a sugar for espresso, or a plugin for coda. THANK YOU!! I have been thinking the same thing.
#Coda 2 and espresso update
They'll release an update when the damned thing is ready, and that's the way it ought to be. Shit like "I'm tired of waiting for an update to a product I haven't even paid for" is just ridiculous. Feature requests and whatnot are appreciated, but just because you asked for something doesn't mean that have to include it. Buying a product does not make one a fucking shareholder. I don't understand where people get off thinking that purchasing a product entitles them to a voice in the direction the development of an app should take. I seriously feel bad for the guy, even though he's made a tremendous amount of money off the game. They were seriously pissed that the guy was taking some time to himself. The developer, who goes by Notch, once took a vacation to visit his mother for her birthday, and you would have thought he'd taken everyone's money and fled to Costa Rica. They want to see every feature they can possibly conceive of implemented, and they want the update for it RIGHT. If you want to see some self-entitled people, check out the Minecraft community.Ī very vocal minority of the user base is extraordinarily demanding. I have played around with some of JetBrains products, especially PHP Storm, but haven't really gotten into them yet.ĮDIT: Just realized there has been talk of TextMate 2 since 2006. Although, their Twitter feed is updated ( !/espressoapp) and they said recently that it may come out in 2-3 months (though who knows if that is accurate). And the fact that MacRabbit's blog hasn't been updated in a year worries me as well.

Like OP said, it seems like the "I'm working on it" has been going on for at least two years (for example, see ). I'm unsure if TM2 will ever get released. I am definitely looking forward to Coda 2, since Panic is pretty well known for making quality apps, and Coda definitely could use improvements (esp in the coding view, IMO.) Hopefully that will get released sometime this year.Īs for Espresso/Textmate. I use Coda extensively, and Panic is the only company who I am confident is actually working on an update.
